Canada Day in Bobcaygeon

We woke up to dark, gray rain and moved to the lock wall after a cruise boat moved---perfect place to enjoy the day's festivities.  High Spirits (from Brewerton), Captain’s Choice and then Cat in the Hatt showed around 1pm and they brought the sun.  An awesome Parade started at 2:30—a wonderful small town celebration of a national holiday.
Mr. Neal stopped by to talk

The locals seemed to have all turned out plus double that for the tourist population.  James Neal player for the Nashville Predators and is from these parts. His dad came by the boat and introduced himself to Fitz and he told Fitz that he had 4 sons and 1 played for the Preds,  another for Knoxville.  We told him we hoped that they liked Tennessee as much as Nashville liked them (we need our Canadian hockey players).  We talked to loads of people—all curious about our trip and took in lots of local knowledge.  The high schools sent their talent to play in the park and they loved Motown—right up our alley.  Capped Canada Day off with a great dinner with our friends at Its About Halibut and fireworks from Cat in the Hatt.  Great Holiday.
