Oregon Pt. 3 Portland

It just has to be said: Portland is a mess. The absolute opposite of Salt Lake City (the last big city we were in). On every street we saw someone living on the sidewalk. In every rose filled park, there were homeless having arguments -with police hovering. The smell of marijuana was pervasive.  We stayed at the Fairgrounds and rode the tram in (it took about an hour and only cost $5) and we were glad we didn't spend anymore time there than we did. The city was clean and roses abound but the people were dirty and scary--not a suit in sight. We took off for Seattle early Tuesday morning and ran into the worst traffic we have had since Los Angeles.
