Home was great. Family, friends, dock mates, and former coworkers
made for a productive and fabulous month. Re-connecting was wonderful; we
caught up on the Nashville news and everyone wanted to hear tails of the trip –we
even got to entertain some fellow Loopers and show off our hometown. We
babysat, partied hard, re-upped with our doctors and re-provisioned. Holden, Leeton, Katie, Scott and Nick are
especially hard to leave—we are so blessed that they are as excited with our
travels as we are. All will be sorely
missed but we have caught the traveling bug and besides, we have a Loop to
finish. We will be back for Christmas. We want
to go to Florida for the winter—some people get on an airplane and are there in
a couple of hours, others hop in their car and are there in 8-16 hours. We will hop on the boat and will be there in
2-3 weeks. Fitz and I think this is the
fun way. We will cross our wake (finish)
the Loop at the top of the Tombigbee.
Then we will continue to Mobile Bay where we hope it will be a little
warmer than the first time we did the panhandle of Florida. Today we head up the Cumberland River toward the Tennessee River and beyond.
