Leaving Florida

Oh my have we had a fun time in Florida but it is now time to move north-- Savannah, Charleston, Myrtle Beach, Beaufort—all calling. We left St. Augustine reluctantly, we docked right downtown and the sights and food were incredible. Today we had a wonderful, sunny day and traveled 60 miles to an anchorage in Fernandina Beach near the Florida/ Georgia line. We are going to anchor out for a few days because the weather is perfect and the water calm. Today’s travel was up the ICW past Jacksonville and Amelia Island. We came through a lot of marshy land with murky brown water about the color of coffee but the dolphin loved it—we saw several pods of dolphin. I haven’t spoken much about the local radio lately—it has been fine but it is Gator Country Radio- I still can’t stand gators so we listened to a more of our personal tunes. Tomorrow we will be in Georgia—I like bulldogs better than gators—we may go back to radio.
Nice little lake house

  1. Lola: If you have a chance, visit Cumberland Island, just across the channel from Fernandina Beach. Armadillos, feral pigs and horse, tiny deer, river otter, lots of gators, GREAT shelling . . .
