Mark --One Month and Still Speaking to Each Other

The rain on Thursday gave us an “at home” day and gave pause to reflect that Saturday it will be 1 month since we were in Baypoint at Panama City Beach and began, in earnest, our six month hike. We have lost the colds we came with, put away our heavy jackets and are experiencing more first times, learning a lot and having the time of our lives. At least once every day we reflect how lucky we are to have the chance to make this trip. Those back home –Nick sending us our bills/mail, Katie Skyping with us so Holden and Leeton will not forget us, and the people at Vanderbilt covering for me—we are so appreciative. This trip has been on our list for about a million years and so far so good. The blog has been really fun to write and the comments/emails have provided good advice and great encouragement. It seems Blogspot makes it difficult for people to leave comments. Feel free to email me fitzpatricklola@gmail.com or tfitz717@hotmail.com if you want to check in and make comments. Biggest challenge, so far, is the inability to plan. I am a planner and like to organize my week on Mondays and feel good about knowing where I am going. Well, boating doesn’t necessarily work that way. The weather is the biggest variable but waiting on mail or packages and boat issues not to mention the wishes of the Captain dictate when and where you will end up. Everyone we have met so far goes into the trip without reservations anywhere!!! We have yet to go into a marina or anchorage and leave when we thought we would.

Sarasota has very interesting architecture
