Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is to Miami as Brentwood is to Nashville-in my mind- a fashionable suburb. The cities have beautiful lights reflecting the bay and lots of neon. I feel like the country bumpkin come to town. We are swinging on the ball way out in the Dinner Key Bay and took the dingy in for some pizza and people watching. Even for a Sunday evening Coconut Grove was hopping—mostly families and a lot foreign languages spoken. Both the pizza and people were great and right before sunset we headed back to the boat—a bumpy, wet ride. Seems the big boats docked here don’t pay attention to the slow speed requested in the harbor especially late on a Sunday evening—not really a complaint just an observation. The waves calmed down around 10pm and we had a great night for sleeping. Monday we went into town and went to our first movie in months. It was hot and the theatre was cool—went to see Draft Day,walked thrugh some of their neat parks, then over to a bayside bar called Scottys –a good day!
