Hurricane Arthur

Well, we haven’t done one of these yet. We should have figured something was up when we looked at the weather forecast in anticipation of leaving Annapolis on Tuesday or Wednesday and all of the sudden the waves and wind were up. As noted, we have learned to respect the waters here and study the weather, waves and winds carefully before even the 20 mile run up the Chesapeake coast—all week it kept getting worse and worse and now we have Hurricane Arthur messing up the Atlantic. So...we canceled our reservation in Baltimore for the July 4th fireworks and searched out more to do in Annapolis. This is a protected harbor plus they will have fireworks too. Last night we had one heck of a lightning thunderstorm (the sailboats all around us are much taller and I would imagine make good lightning rods). Our Spa Creek is filling up –it is a mooring ball field but now we have some boats anchored near us. I think it will get more crowded as Arthur heads further north. I got some scanning done and today we are going to find a mall—maybe a movie.
These 6 yr. olds were taking sailing lessons--made us miss the grandbabies.

Our very own lightning rods
