The US Naval Academy—Plebe Induction July 1

We met up with some experienced Loopers we had met in North Carolina –Lisa and Darryl and went to brunch at the crowded Chick and Ruth’s (apparently a tradition in Annapolis) and then on to tour the Naval Academy. July 1st is the induction of the new class so our guided tour had some proud parents and grandparents of some of the new class. A couple of the parents had done their homework so well they knew as much or more than the tour guide. The campus is on the waterfront, covers about a square mile and has 4500 cadets. Everyone under the age of 25 is very polite. The tour was great and we will go back to go through the Naval Museum. Annapolis is also the Capital of Maryland so we walked round the Capitol- the architecture of this town is very New England –close shotgun businesses and homes.
Nice place for brunch
