Leaving Annapolis and heading to Middle River

We spent 7 nights in Annapolis and meant to only be there 2—that pesky hurricane. We loved our stay there and could have spent another week but we have places to go. The Chesapeake has not really settled down but Sunday morning there was a travel window and we took advantage of it. While the water was pretty rocky we were only going about 30 miles upriver to Middle River where Terry O’Donnell has been eyeing a 34’ Marionette and asked us to give it a look see. Fitz had left messages and sent email to the broker and not heard back from him but a weather window is not to be missed to we headed there with no reservation. Middle River is a very busy tributary (it is Sunday and close to Baltimore) but half way up it has a speed of 6 knots so you can pick through the traffic with relative ease. Long story short—we went to 2 different marinas only to find out the boat had been moved to the Baltimore Yacht Club at the mouth of the river! Since we had gone many miles up the Middle (this river reminds us of Mine Lick Creek off of Center Hill but while that one is in the wilderness, this one is dotted with marinas) we were able to stay at one of these marinas and will go to the yacht club tomorrow. It is a well-protected mooring and we can plug in, get water, and pump out. Also, there are a couple of restaurants here—we chose the Crazy Turtle—straight out of what I picture on Jersey Shores. The upscale restaurant offered great people watching, rowdy bar, outside volleyball and corn hole. Delightful.
