More Atlantic City

The weather was shown to be iffy for the next 3 days and Sunday was the worst day. The decision was whether to travel on the outside (easier and faster but more subject to uncomfortable waves), go across the river and anchor in a protected bay, or go on New Jersey’s ICW (slower and more shoaling to maneuver). We woke up to the weather showing a window that might allow an outside cruise if we hit it early and were off the ocean by 1pm. So we head out and within 10 minutes we were rocking and rolling with very little relief between waves. We should have known when we passed many boats heading fast into the inlet and we were the only ones heading out. So we scraped option A, turned around and headed for the anchorage. Tomorrow we will leave 2 hours before high tide (very important are the tides and current here) and go the ICW. At the head of the bay is an Acme grocery and we have been warned to provision before we get to New York so we broke out the dingy and hoped there would find a dingy dock—we found a place behind a lot for sale and waded to shore (part of the adventure). We are to the point where we don’t buy the large coffee or mayo—we are a month from putting the boat away—but this should be the last of the $100 grocery shopping sprees. We have found a great Oldies Radio station, I will do some scanning and Fitz will find a project.
Nightlights from the back of the boat at dock--Borgata and the Golden Nugget

Kammerman's Marina where we could get in- still recovering from Hurricane Sandy

Farly State Park connected to the Golden Nugget--we were on their waiting list

This is the Coast Guard in Atlantic City--it seems to be one of the few places recovered from Hurricane Sandy
